12. Fraud and Misuse of the System

Fraudulent activities involving ApartmentPermits.com are strictly prohibited and constitute a violation of these Terms of Service. Any instance of fraud may result in legal action in addition to the permanent revocation of your ApartmentPermits.com account. ApartmentPermits.com reserves the right to seek damages and pursue prosecution to the fullest extent permitted by law. Any instance of fraud may result in the permanent revocation of your ApartmentPermits.com account. Fraudulent activities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Misrepresentation of Permit Status – Any attempt to present a screenshot, document, or any other item as a valid permit when it is not officially recognized by ApartmentPermits.com. The official registration ledger maintained by ApartmentPermits.com is the only authoritative record of permit validity. Even if a vehicle was registered at a prior time, it does not mean it was registered correctly at the time of enforcement. Users can verify their registration status through their apartment complex's management office or through their resident portal.
  2. Fraudulent Insurance Claims – Submitting false or misleading insurance claims in relation to parking enforcement actions.
  3. Disputing Legitimate Payments for Permits – In the case of paid parking permits, any attempt to dispute valid charges associated with a permit will be considered fraudulent behavior.
  4. Registering Vehicles to Bypass Permit Limits – Registering vehicles of other types in an effort to bypass permit limits. For instance, attempting to register a guest vehicle as a resident vehicle to circumvent guest registration limits is strictly prohibited. Such misuse is actively monitored, and repeated or intentional violations may result in the revocation of your account.

Additionally, ApartmentPermits.com reserves the right to revoke a user's account for reasons including but not limited to:

  • Failure to adhere to property parking rules as established by the apartment complex.
  • Destruction or tampering with property used for parking control, including signage, enforcement devices, or other related infrastructure.

13. User Responsibility for Accurate Data

ApartmentPermits.com makes reasonable efforts to match valid registrations to vehicles undergoing permit verification. Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the license plate information they enter. Failure to provide accurate information may result in enforcement actions, including but not limited to booting, towing, or other penalties. By using the system, users acknowledge and accept full responsibility for any enforcement actions resulting from errors in the information they provide.

14. Official Record of Registration

The only official record of permit registration is the ApartmentPermits.com permit ledger. Users and enforcement personnel must rely on this system to verify registration status. A history of a user's permit registrations is available through their apartment complex's management office. By using ApartmentPermits.com, users acknowledge and agree that this ledger is the definitive source of permit status. Use of the system entails that the end user accepts and acknowledges that only the official ApartmentPermits.com history ledger is acceptable to determine if a permit is or was valid on a certain day/time.

15. Account Revocation and Consequences

ApartmentPermits.com reserves the right to revoke access to the system at its sole discretion, and such revocation is final and cannot be appealed. The system is provided as a courtesy to users and their guests for the convenience of obtaining parking permits at any time. If your account is revoked, you will no longer have access to modify your resident permitted vehicles or register guests, and your guests will no longer be able to register to visit your unit. Instead, these permits must be obtained manually through your apartment complex's office during normal business hours.

Revocation of an account does not exempt a user or their guests from compliance with property parking regulations. Users without a valid permit remain subject to enforcement actions as determined by their apartment complex. Enforcement actions may include, but are not limited to, warnings, fines, booting, towing, or other penalties as specified by the property management. ApartmentPermits.com does not mediate disputes regarding enforcement actions, and users must resolve any issues directly with their apartment complex or the enforcement vendor.

ApartmentPermits.com does not grant or deny parking privileges; parking enforcement is determined by the property management. Property management may have access to certain enforcement data from ApartmentPermits.com, but enforcement decisions and actions remain at their sole discretion. Users remain responsible for following all parking rules, even if their account is revoked.
